A gem of a B&B. Large family room with a very smart bathroom and the best power shower I've ever used. Beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, spotless and quiet.
Dave is charming, friendly and very welcoming. His knowledge of walks in the area is really useful - he has climbed every hill from every angle and can offer good advice on where to go to get away from the hoards. The breakfast was huge, hearty and freshly cooked. We shall definitely return. todos opiniões »
The Twin room we stayed was spacious, clean and warm especially large shower room! The breakfast was cooked to perfection especially mushrooms, tomatoes :) David and Angie made us feel welcome and were very helpful when needed. Thank David told us the forecast everyday in order to help us how to plan our day if it rains .... Do enjoy the view from High sweden Bridge ! And Derenwater at Keswick !!! Thank you for making us feel at home !!!.
Dave and Angela are excellent hosts that make you feel welcome the moment you check in. Dave is very knowledgable and helpful in advising the best places to visit to have a meal and to see the sights. I'd recommend Campton House to anyone and would happily stay there again. Room rate was very reasonable and compared well with the other Bed and Breakfasts and Hotels we stayed at during our trip.
Room was spacious, very nicely decorated and comfortable. Bed and bed linen was very comfortable and fresh. Owners (sorry can't remember names!) were welcoming, friendly and helpful with ideas for eating out, directions and recommended lovely local walks, which we really enjoyed. Breakfast was yummy and very filling with great choice. Would definitely stay here again for longer.
Excellent location right in the centre of Ambleside within walking distance of all the restaurants.
Dave and Angie were excellent hosts, very helpful indeed. They were also extremely accommodating when we needed a very early breakfast so we could get on our way on Saturday morning. No problem at all, we had an absolutely delicious home cooked Full English Breakfast.
Enjoyed the centrality of the b&b as we could enjoy a good choice of restaurants, cinemas and places to try the local ales as well as enjoy its proximity to the hills for great walks and views. Great welcome and hospitality from Dave and Angie who were always on hand for advice and served up hearty English breakfasts to set us up for the day.
Dave and Angie were wonderful and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They gave me lots of information about walking trails and restaurants nearby. My room was lovely and overlooked the steepled church and the fells nearby. Internet access was great. This really is my favorite place to stay when I am in the Lake District.
on arrival we felt at home and within minutes they advised us of free parking and all the resturants pubs etc !!!!!! the room was spotless nice size , could'nt get bbc on tv but being there 1 night was not a issue !!!!! breakfast fantastic as we thought ( not expected) overall 10/10 for our experiance of the Claremont.
Everything! Probably th ebest B&B I ever stayed in. Room so spacious, compforable and clean. Great bathroom facilities and lovely decor. Dave and Angie so helpful - the perfect hosts. Breakfast was fab - with great attention to detail - even removed the centre pith from the tomato! Most impressed.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Parking is generally an issue in Ambleside, but Dave had organised secure parking near by, and assisted us with handling our luggage to/from the car. He was also very helpful with suggestions of what to do in the Lake District, even loaning us his road-map.
Warm, friendly hosts. Dave was extremely knowledgeable of the area and provided suitable info for walks and places to visit. Every morning, breakfast was lovely. Nothing seemed too much for our hosts Dave and Angela. We look forward to returning possibly later this year...
The owners were ever so friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about local places of interest and things to do. They were also very helpful with showing us a more suitable route for our walk that we wanted to do, considering the weather conditions.

Very friendly couple who run the place, felt at home from the minute I walked in. The room was lovely, nicely decorated and a good size, was bigger than my bedroom at home. Good choice of breakfast in the morning.

The room that we had was a little smaller than normal, however, the cleanliness of Claremont, facilities and lovely hosts would not prevent us from returning.....
