Lacet House is situated in the heart of Ambleside, within the scenic Lake District National Park. The town is surrounded by mountains and rolling fells, with the head of Windermere Lake less than 1 mile away.
The rooms at the property each feature a flat-screen TV, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities, along with private or en suite bathroom facilities. Many boast impressive views of the countryside. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.
In the mornings, the Lacet House serves cooked breakfast, featuring spicy Cumberland sausage. Vegetarian and lighter options are also available. The dining room has been thoughtfully decorated to reflect the atmosphere of a traditional English tearoom. In summer, guests can enjoy breakfast in the garden.
Lacet House offers free guest passes for the local spa, gym and leisure centre. THe passes allow 2 guests use of the facilities for up to 2 hours. The leisure centre features a fully equipped gym, two saunas, hot tub and 15-metre heated swimming pool. Guests are welcome to use the passes more than once during their stay and can also participate in fitness classes, subject to availability.
Ambleside offers numerous pubs, restaurants, and shops, within a 5-minute stroll of the house. The Ambleside Walk begins from the town centre and includes a trail around the Stock Ghyll Force Waterfalls. Lacet House also offers free private parking.

Lacet House is in a great location, very close, literally to the town centre of Ambleside. The host Catherine made my 83 year old mother and I very welcome. We received old fashioned hospitality. It is a small guest house so it feels like bringing your lounge room! We booked 6 months ahead from Australia ans got a very competitive rate. Very good value accommodation. Such a lovely place to stay where the owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They went above and beyond expectations! Great location right in the middle of Ambleside. Modern well presented rooms with very comfortable beds! We had a great choice of breakfasts and they even have parking spaces! ( rare in Ambleside). We will definitely be returning for another visit! Both Graham and Catherine were superb hosts and made us feel very welcome. The cooked breakfast was varied and delicious so we could alternate what to have to eat each morning. The rooms were Beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Ambleside was a fantastic location for exploring the Lake District. We would definitely stay there again.
The owners couldn't have been more hospitable or helpful, they were delightful and Lacet House is very well run. The breakfasts were excellent too and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay especially as it was right in the heart of Ambleside as well. We would recommend anyone to stay here and will also go back in the future.
A lovely bed and breakfast in the in the centre of pretty Ambleside, right in the heart of the stumming Lake District. The owners were friendly and helpful, the b&b was well furnished and immaculate. The breakfast good and the on site car parking essensial.
Graeme and Catherine are so welcoming and very helpful with everything including best pubs and restaurants and best walks for all levels. Breakfasts were amazing with so much variety. I would highly recommend Lacet House and would definitely go back again.

Very clean well appointed accommodation centrally based in Ambleside, so was able to explore the town. There were plenty of lovely walks starting from Ambleside. The owners were welcoming; friendly; helpful and very informative about the area.
The rooms were all individually designed and to a high standard and were
spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent and the owners were friendly
and gave us good information regarding the area to make our time there
memorable.
We enjoyed the location, to be able to walk through the town & then bump into fellow travellers from our previous trip after suggesting they stay in Ambleside. The friendly touch by our hosts made it very memorable.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The location is right in the centre so great for walking, shopping, restaurants and bars. Fantastic breakfast served in the dinning room or in your own room if you wanted.
Super friendly guest house that was clean, welcoming and served a delicious breakfast. I even received a bottle of wine and birthday card from the owners that was a lovely surprise :D I couldn't recommend enough.

It wasn't so much that we didnt like but parking was a little difficult but not a huge problem.

Everything is good except that the water pressure is not too good. Wifi is very weak.
The sky light blind right above the bed was ill fitting and let in too much light. The tv was too small and far from the bed and the radiator in the bathroom wasn't on and so very cold. No dressing table for the ladies too!.
Despite good hygiene standards there was a very 'well used'
looking toilet brush in the bathroom - yuk! The ground floor bedroom on
the corner of the main road was too exposed to heavy street noise and
traffic noise! This should be mentioned when you book.
