Construído em 1862, o primeiro hotel prisão da Suíça foi usado como a prisão central de Lucerna até Outono de 1998. Hoje em dia, os hóspedes podem desfrutar da atmosfera única do Jailhotel Löwengraben e do Clube Strichpunkt.
Todos os quartos têm casas de banho privativas com duches e pisos em madeira (de folhosas).
O hotel, localizado mesmo no centro da zona histórica de Lucerna, está situado apenas entre 5 a 10 minutos a pé da estação ferroviária e de atracções, tais como a Ponte Kapellbrücke e a Loja de Relógios Bucherer.
Os hóspedes podem divertir-se e dançar no Clube Strichpunkt no local, aberto de quinta-feira a sábado à noite.

Amazing atmosphere of jail, cleanliness and comfort of beds and ensuit toilet, great buffet breakfast.
Free and fast wifi, available only around the lobby and dining room.
After check out, luggage storage is available, but, no toilet.
Location; very close to public transportation and tourist attractions, especially the Musegg where you can have great views of Luzern from the Towers. Frequent buses to and from Hbf, getting off at Kasernenplatz, 400 metres walk to the hotel via the Spreuerbrücke. todos opiniões
The "former-prison-atmosphere" was great and perfectly preserved, the location is absolutely great, the rooms were clean and had a nice heating system. The shower was clean and had hot water 24hrs. Breakfast was ok, good coffee and a decent selection of cereal, juice, tea, bread, cheese, ham, boiled eggs and jams.
Great staff, was booked into a room that didn't have a bed which was rectified immediately. Complimentary tea coffee etc on arrival, decent breakfast, unique although very basic (but fun) accommodation. Superb location for bridges and shopping. Station 10-15 mins on foot.
Perfect location almost in the Old town and only 10 minutes walk from
the railway station. Very special interior design - you feel really
being in a jail :) Barred windows, doors with locking bolts, display
stands with authentic jail accessories - really thrilling!.
This jail accommodation was original and cheap, really clean and
excellent breakfast, staff great. City sights nearby. Insider info - ask
for room 207 - it has better wifi than reception despite being told
there is no wifi in the rooms.!!.
Hotel was ok, interesting in term of being situated in former prison.
There was good breakfast and they served tea / cofee in the lobby
free of charge. Hotel is situated some 7-10 minutes walk from Luzern
main station.
Very clean and simple. Awesome design and layout. Very close to major shopping and tourist area and close to the train station while being on a quieter street. Supermarket right across the street.
We thought this hotel was good value compared to others Lucerne. The room was quite basic but had everything we needed. Breakfast was good. Good location.
The thought of staying in a former prison was intriguing. The beds are firm, but we chose the hotel for its novelty basis not for comfort.
i like it's unique jail theme/design hotel. it gives u a different feel when staying in a typical hotel.

The more reasonable price for this city and convenience of being inside the Old City. It offered a simple buffet of cold foods for breakfast. Loved the individual room authentic-looking jail doors and other atmospheric decor which made it seem fun to be there.
Nice adventure/experience to stay in a former prison. Not very
comfortable - but that's typical for a prison! Good breakfast.

Wi-fi is only available in the reception area, the room had only the beds and the shower/toilet, no wardrobe and no table/chair.
Nothing, it was perfect budget accommodation in rip off Switzerland.
No Wi-Fi in the rooms - only at the reception. They charge you extra fee
for paying by credit card - so better pay in cash. The security lock on
the room door did not work properly - had to go downstairs for help. No
elevator!!!.
There is a nightclub/bar downstairs but the noise echoes up and goes
on most of the night. Drunken patrons ran their car into something (the
building?) under my window at 2am... Etc etc so take ear plugs or you
really won't get sleep. The train station is 15chf away (to far to
walk with suitcases). No lift.
Hotel rooms being former cells only have beds, two clothe hangers and
toilet+shower. Rooms are very basic but there is no problem in case one
expects it. Doors are wooden so you can hear everything that happens in
the coridor.
Wifi was only in the lobby and the telephone was for hotel employees only. Breakfast in the morning was below average but fair for the price. Easy to hear people in the halls at night.
Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable.
No parking facilities, but there is a car park 5 minutes walk away.
Very basic rooms, stay here if you need only to sleep in rooms.

In middle of the night we got woken by noise in the hall way

Room was really tiny with twin beds and only space to walk between them. There was no closet or even hook to hang clothes. It really did resemble a jail room which was effective and ok except for the inconvenience of little space for 2 people/2 suitcases. It would have been better used as a single. Places in the shower should be scrubbed and resealed. Otherwise, seemed clean.
Unfortunately my laptop was stolen. Hotel staff didn't know how to
handle this while housekeeping wasn't present... (?) Temperature in
the "cell" wasn't adjustable and heating pipes made some
noise (click, click, click every two seconds).
Bathroom took up a lot of space in the already very small room and was very tinny. Limited room for suit cases etc. Limited access to power sockets in room. Asked for double - got given a twin. Hotel is still undergoing conversion.

-Should have some hooks to hang clothing.
The concept of the jail was interesting. I would prefer the bars be able to be opened. Is that a safety issue?
No lift, stairs rather steep.
Noise from club downstairs, but that was expected, credit card surcharge, no hooks in the rooms so bags and jackets can't be hung up.
Expensive for a simple room but it is Suisse.
Beds a bit uncomfortable but still ok.
There were some lights that did not work in the halls, so it was really scary when arriving at night. We asked the hotel several times to fix the situation, but nothing was done. The rooms were part of a jail, and have been redecorated, but when one person is in the bathroom the whole room is being illuminated. There were details like this, so I am not sure if I would stay there again.
That our room was at the third floor and having some problems in the kneews wasn't the most convenient.
They didn't have a car park and I got a ticket.

Staff weren't well organised, did take ages for checking in.
When you pay with a credit card at the hotel take about 5 euro extra
charge. There are wifi only in the lobby. No parking, paid parking is
hard to find. The beds are not comfortable. Rooms are small. There are
only the head towels. No hair dryer. Luzern is a small town. You walk
from one end of the city center in 15 minutes.
It is impossible to understand how this hotel can try to do savings by excluding a mirror, power sockets and shelves or something to put your toileteries on. It's below hostel standard.

Bedding was dirty and noise carried from outside. Lots of young people.
No flexibility in checking in or out. They want to do it on time. During winter it is cumbersome.

Very poor facilities, even no table in the room, a simple wash basin in the room and no way to place your washing staffs, only electric port at 1.5m high wall, could use only by adopting your case as support, no sound insulation at all, has wifi only around the reception, will never try such hotel in the future.
The wifi didn't work; the light outside the door didn't work. It was written that shower room is private, but in fact it is out of the room. We booked a room for three, but the staff first offered us a room by mistake, then offered us an occupied room. The door for every room is opened by code but not the key, and the code is seldom changed.
Door security, door didn't fit and rattled, no noise protection from
outside in corridor, room wasn't cleaned on night between stays,
however towel was removed. Broken electric socket in wall. No plug in
sink. I'm sure this was far more comfortable when it was a prison
the original cell doors would have been better left in place. Prison
experience is no excuse for the above....
