  Thorncroft Inn is a gracious, cozy, and quiet getaway inn. It's location in wooded acreage is in sidewalk-walking distance to shops, restaurants and docks of Vineyard Haven. We enjoyed a detailed written tour guide of the island composed and provided by the innkeeper, Karl. Loved "The Black Dog Tavern" for good food on the harbor. It was quite a peaceful and relaxing experience. I am personally very picky about hotels /inns to the point I usually bring sheets and towels. To my surprise, I felt so comfortable with the feeling of cleanliness that I did not have to use them. The service was exceptional. Kudos to Lynn and Carl!
