This is an old, historic hotel. As such, it has charm, character,
elegance and comfort but do not expect modern amenities. For example,
the older wing has only one small elevator. This is not a hotel
appropriate for families, but great for couples, business travelers and
retirees; anyone seeking beauty, peace and quiet, and something
different from cookie cutter hotel chains.

Loved the size of the room! We had a huge bath and a whole separate walk-
in closet/dressing area. There was a full length mirror, 2 dressers
and plenty of hanging space. We could put all our luggage in there and
then shut the door so we didn't have stuff spread all over the room.

The Galvez Hotel is a beautiful old hotel that has been magnificently restored and kept up to date. It is right on the seawall and beach and has a rich and interesting history. I like that this is prominently displayed and guests are made aware of its history. We especially enjoyed the older gentlemen curator in the lower level where a lot of pictures and artifacts are displayed. This gentlemen should be specially acknowledged as he brought the history and stories to life.

This hotel has an excellent shuttle service for taking guests to places
nearby. It took us shopping, dinner and breakfast. It was very
comfortable to use it and we saved a lot of money on taxis or renting a
car. The drivers were very friendly and we just had to wait a bit when

of us very well. I wish I had gotten their names but unfortunately I

We stayed for 5 nights which gave us the opportuniy to use most of the excellent facilities at the hotel. We ate in the Restaurant a few times,had snacks in the Bar and always ended the day with a Cocktail back at the hotel. This was a 'girls get-away' weekend celebrating a birthday. The resort 's atmosphere was quite serene and peaceful. The service from the bar and restaurant was excellant and the staff were eager to please. Both the golf and hiking trails were great and well worth the hike. And what a blessing to have the 'Wounded Warriors' staying there at the same time.I would definetly recommend 'The Resort at Tapatio Springs' !
