The location was well worth the price of the hotel and the parking fee across the street. The breakfast delivered to your room in the morning was delightful, and the complimentary wine and cheese reception was a great bonus. In the lobby of the hotel there is a great book with all of the menus from the local restaurants and the desk clerk was able to recommend some great places. As this was the first time I had stayed at a bed and breakfast I was half anticipating a very out-of-date room with c.

The complimentary wine and cheese hour was very nice and relaxing. And I especially enjoyed the breakfast with the option of having it delivered to your room or served in the beautiful courtyard area. The jacuzzi looked inviting but we didn't have the time to enjoy it. There is always next time! The staff was great...very professional!. The staff were amazing - very helpful and very friendly, they went out of their way to accomodate requests. Our room was on the third floor and it was comfortable and clean. The bathroom could have done with a little bit tlc though as it was tired looking. The Inn is situated in a great location for shopping and getting to all the attractions. It also has the benefit of three amazing restaurants right next door to it. Location is perfect. Location is great! Outdoor breakfast area is under a lovely arbor. Staff is super friendly and helpful, fetched a special gluten-free breakfast for my friend and got an umbrella for her when it rained. Also made some great restaurant and tour suggestions. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Afternoon wine and cheese and early morning coffee both available free on the outdoor patio. Room service for breakfast was also free. Rooms were clean, well thought out and the bed VERY comfortable. Our friends' room next door was different, which made it feel less commercial. The staff were so friendly and helpful. With Elliott House being between Meeting Street and King Street it makes for a great location to walk historic Charleston's residential areas as well as get to shopping and restaurants. The room was a little humid and smelled a bit like my grandmother's house; however, with it being a renovated old structure this was expected. The Courtyard area plants were were well maintained but we felt that the courtyard itself could have done with being swept every day as there were a lot of leaves. Hotel is next to a trash collection alley and a large generator for the restaurant next door; very noisy in the early morning hours. Breakfast was okay but could be better given that Charleston is such a "foodie" town with great bakeries and restaurants all around. Erm... can't think of anything!. Usually when I spend $40 in parking it is for valet service. I wanted someone to park my car and carry my bags. Breakfast needs fruit! My stay was just OK. I was looking for more for the money. The charm of the city made the trip!. Room was smal (but comfortable). air conditioning needed an update. Parking was convenient but rather expensive. That I had to leave. nothing. Free breakfast served in the courtyard is awesome, but, unfortunately, our server had a bit of an attitude and order was not filled properly. I am sure if the the management knew of this they would take corrective action. Some of the rooms can use updating. The breakfast was minimal and the morning staff who served it weren't very friendly. We thought the breakfast was not at all up-to-par. We love to stay in bread-and-breakfast places and somehow mistakenly thought this would be a b&b rather than an inn with a continental breakfast. That was a big disappointment!. Two things that the hotel couldn't help--construction that awoke us before 5 am (we had an end room on the street) and convenient but not inexpensive parking across the street--might be a good idea to alert travelers to the parking issue--not a biggie but might help senior travelers decide about ground transportation. Our only comment was that we would have liked the option to keep our towels rather than have them changed everyday. Elevator Made A Horrible Sound And Jolted When Stopped On Our Floor Which Lead Us To Take 3 Flights Stairs EachTime. Breakfast Choices WAs Very Disappointing. Shower Stream Very Weak. Parking Expensive. The site sates included are a coffee pot and hot breakfast. There are no coffee pots and the "hot" breakfast is a warm muffin and a container of yogurt. The water pressure was so bad you could not take a shower and took 30 minutes to fill the tub just enough for a shallow bath. One of the restaurants next door had someone come in to pressure wash trays and grates between 2 and 5 am.(this was not due to anything with this hotel.). Large cockroach in the tub. Hot water was thin when I was in the shower. The pillow top mattress did not provide much support so we both woke up with a back ache in the morning. The room was small, and the windows let in too much light at night. Needs better window coverings. The shower drain did not drain so after your shower you were standing in about 2-3 inches of water. The breakfast was pitiful...they could at least provide some pastries from a local Bakery. Street light right outside window to bedroom made the room a little difficult for people who need darkness, had to fight the birds for my breakfast in the courtyard. Room was quite small A dorm size refrigerator and a coffee maker in the room would have been an appreciated addition. Also, it is always a good idea to have an iron in the room for travelers whose clothing has been crunched in a suitcase. I missed A electric kettle in my room. price (but it was apparently reasonable for going rate in the city). Size of Bed...although comfortable and the linens were of good quality, the bed was a bit small fro two people. It would have been great to have a ceiling fan in the room. The noise from the garbage trucks very early in the morning was a bit annoying. The air conditioner was loud and the room had a smell but I guess for the age of the place maybe that's expected. Quite a bit of noise one night. I wrote several things on the suggestion card which I left where wine is served in the evening: I do not want to write them all again here. Poor lighting in the rooms - too dark to read. City construction noise all night long. Music from restaurant next door all night. Complementary breakfast definitely could have been better. No gluten free breakfast option. No problems. parking arrangements. too much furniture and "stuff in the room .not easy to eat breakfast in the room one low table and one small couch , no chairs. room was quite dark. Ants in the bathroom!. the room had a musty smell. the run down feel of the court yard and our private ct yard. A broom would have been nice ! not updated enough for the amount of money we paid for the room -. Very small room, room service could step up their game (didn't empty waste paper baskets daily, dirty towels weren't picked up one day), lack of hanging space made stay difficult (no closet), big bathroom but such a small vanity, fire alarm went off in the middle of the night! Explanation given was "the occupants of room 22 were taking a shower and the steam set the alarm off because the bathroom door was left open". ??? Really!.
