and inviting. Richard gave us a great lesson in beer, with so many

We had a very friendly welcome. We arrived about 7pm expecting to be able to order a meal, unfortunately they stop serving at 6pm on Sundays (9pm other nights). Seeing how diappointed we were the young woman went to ask the landlord if he could reccomend somewhere or provide a sandwich. Richard very kindly made us fish and chips, which were excellent and so very welcome after a full day on the road.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms were very warm. I have no complains however I would like to suggest that the place could do with more housekeeping staff (having been a chamber maid myself at one time) otherwise its good value for money. -

Good service delivery. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. The food was excellent and timely. The room was comfortable and completely self contained. On the fringes of the dales, and very convenient for most local trips. Thankyou both for a lovely stay. We will be back. -

We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and our room in the hotel wasvery comfortable very good value the breakfast was delicious also thecourtyard was lovely - The staff were all very helpful and friendly and our rooms were warm and comfortable and the bathwrooms were excellent.

A family hotel whose staff were amazingly helpful and attentive - even swapping us to a ground-floor room (due to a broken ankle) without needing to be asked and despite its being a family room rather than the twin we had booked! Delicious breakfast, with generous variety (both continental and cooked). Superb location for the universities - just across the road. Right on bus route for shopping or bus/coach/train stations. Yet a feeling of being in the country - "at home" in the country. Thank

I have never stayed in a pub before-- it was friendly and relaxed and I was made to feel welcome. The room was extremely tastefully done and the food was lovely. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room and very clean I would recommend it to anyone for a nice leisurely break. Well done The White Lion keep it just the way it is
