We took our dog & she was very welcomed. We were able to take her into the bar & restaurant. The staff are all very good & so was the food. There was a lot of it! It was really good value for money a little dated, but I think that's what keeps the price down 10 out of 10!

Everything !! Only went for a night but we had a lovely time. Lunch in the Mermaid, a walk around the island, dinner in the hotel. The food was excellent.A very comfortable bed. Next morning a lovely breakfast and a rummage in the shops.......a perfect evening away. We'll be back.

We stayed there for 4 nights and the facilities. Although it is an older style hotel the refurbishment is to an excellent standard. The rooms were clean and comfortable. DVD player and IPod dock were great extras and the staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive. The in house restaurant was excellent both in quality and value for money.

Staff were helpful & friendly, the common rooms & bedroom were decent and well maintained. The hotel was correct value for money and I would stay there again. I usually stay in the centre of St Peter Port but in future I will enjoy a quieter location using taxi and/or my legs!

We had a brilliant (and unexpectedly extended !) stay at The
Shakespeare. The room was comfortable and very well fitted out, with a
superb view. The Cafe South, with similar sea views, is a delightful
place for breakfast and dinner, and the food was excellent. Special
mention must be made of all the restaurant staff, who were exceptionally
friendly and efficient - by the time we left, we felt like we were old
