The hotel room was excellent; neat pristine and staffed by wonderful staff. We had an 8 month old baby with us and the guest house were great with accommodating him - cot and high chair provided. They also assisted us with drying some of his clothes which was fabulous.
The breakfasts were amazing.
Also, the rooms were reasonably sound proof which helped our baby get a good night's sleep and also meant other guests didn't hear him!

I stayed here with my mother who is 71 for a shopping weekend. We had a family room that was lovely.
First class B&B. Lovely genuine and friendly hosts. We can honestly say the breakfast was the best we have ever had in any B&B or hotel.Very very clean and comfortable rooms, hosts were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended !!!!! Easy 5 stars *****

Just a short walk from the city centre, this is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The garden is beautiful, with ruins and lovely flowers, and big enough for guests (and their guests) to sit in the sun without being on top of each other. Nice that there is a bar, and a big car park just at the back..

Bar Convent is lovely. It's cheap, clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and convenient for central York.
It isn't luxurious, but you don't choose to stay in a working convent if you want luxury. Everything you need is there and more, including a huge garden which is a big plus in York city centre.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.They were very welcoming and the Saddle itself has a very comfortable atmosphere and decor. The rooms were cleaned, hoovered and beds made every morning. The ensuite was spotless and well equipped with shower gel, shampoo and spare loo rolls.
I would recommend this place to anyone.
There is a seperate door for coming and going which you are given a key to, so privacy is not a problem and you can come and go as you please.
I will be booking again.
