Good location in quiet back street but close to shops and restaurants and not too far from city centre and station. I was initially dismayed to find the apartment is in a Hall of Residence but there was no appreciable noise from the student element of my fellow residents. The efficiency and friendliness of the staff, especially in the dining room. With a Premier Inn you know just what to expect, comfortable beds, cleanliness and welcome, at a reasonable price. The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. Stayed in the Premier inn on Princess street from the 2th to 23rd of Nov 2013. The Hotel is just a 5-7min walk from the waverly railway station and is directly opposite the famous Edinburgh Castle. Although we dint spend much time in the hotel and dint get a chance to dine in, but the Hotel was very nice, Clean and had all amenities one could ask for. A value for money hotel for people travelling to Scotland and are in a mood to Explore rather than stay in!

This guesthouse offers very nice service and the owner is really very friendly. The location is very well closed to the main street, where the bus station can take you to anywhere.
