We have stayed at the Wool Merchant's on a number of weekend occasions now and have found it offers very good value for money. The staff are helpful, the rooms very clean and (in our case) spacious with good bathrooms. We haven't eaten in the on site Italian restaurant yet but the breakfast on offer is superb ! We are already booked in for a couple of Saturdays next year on the strength of our previous stays. All in all, great value especially at the price.

An outstanding small hotel in a beautiful valley. You would hardly know that you were just a couple of miles from both Bradford and Halifax (but the latter city has remarkably preserved much of its urban fabric as a pioneering site of the early industrial revolution and should not be missed!). Don't miss trips to Saltaire, East Riddlesdon Hall and just possibly (for Bronte fans) Haworth. Good walking nearby and plenty of quiet roads off the beaten track.

We loved every thing about the Hotel the staff were so helpful and friendly. Any thing we needed they got for us eg extra milk and sugar.On arrival they took our car keys and parked it away for the weekend and got it back out on our departure. The Breakfast was unbelieveable everything you could think of was available a table set out with every fruit you can think of every cereal fruit juices etc plenty of tea/coffee and then a beautiful cooked Full English followed by toast! Comfortable with everything we needed and easy to come and go, as we were visiting family in the area. Well placed in town with many eating places and shops on hand. Cinema next door would be useful to some. Car park system could have been confusing but the hotel rang a couple of days before and explained it, then a super nice attendent in the car

Incidently we were mother and daughter in seperate rooms which doesn't fit your categories above -
1/ Welcome and friendliness of Reception, even remembering conversation details talked of on previous visits.
2/ Good quality food and friendliness of staff in the Beefeater. Again, 2 waitresses remembering us from previous stays.
3/ Normally, at a breakfast we have all our family (ie 15 approx.) finding a table etc is never too much trouble to the staff and they make everybody welcome.
4/ cleanliness upheld throughout our stay.
WE WILL BE BACK asap.

The bed was large and comfortable, the staff were helpful and freindly and the room was like an American Motel which was handy for having the car straight outside where you could see it, get to things, unload and load easily. It was within easy driving distance of Halifax, Sowerby Bridge and its more shop attractive Hebden Bridge. -
