  Room was clean with comfortable bed, practical shower and washbasin. Toilet in separate cubicle. Staff were friendly and helpful and public areas were clean and practical. I had read some unfavourable reviews after booking, but in my experience the hotel provided excellent value for money. Also, a variety of eating places in the complex offering burgers, Me - I booked 3 nights here as price was right. Room small and sparse but adequate for our simple needs. The hotel is under a car park and besides a casino, bowling alley and cinema, like a mini mall enclave. As this is budget stay - you pay for extras. Save 2 quids if you don't get room serviced during your extended stay. Internet is 3 quids for 2 timed hours and signal available at the breakfast hall on 6th. It is fast though so that was fine.   The staff were definitely the best about the hotel, very friendly and extremely helpful. I was particularly impressed to find the heating was left on over night, and not turned off as is so often the case in some hotels.   The beds were super king size, this was fantastic. The whole hotel was spotless, and the location was fantastic as we had tickets for the SECC. Breakfast was lovely too. - Hotel was in excellent position for SECC. The breakfast was very filling with lots of choice and dining room was light bright and airy. Would definately return.

  The hotel is dated, but in a very authentic, cultural type of way. We had the executive suit (Lamond) which we were surprised at in its size, comfort and cleanliness. I've never had a hotel with a Spa bath! The staff were exceptionally friendly (not unusual for Scotland though) and the breakfast was yummy - diet went out the window!   Although the rooms were just a tad tired they were very clean and the beds were comfy.The breakfast was marvellous and plenty to choose from.Wouldn't go hungry here.
