I love their historic building and comfortable-like-home facilities. Breakfast is home-made and very delicious. It is about 20-minute walk to the city center, and it is never tedious to see the unique shops, restaurants and pubs along the way. Or you can catch a bus very conveniently. Some rooms can see the Arthur's Seat. The people who run the house is very friendly and take care of everything you need. Highly recommended. wszystkie opinie »
Enjoyed Alba House from the start with a lovely and informative introduction from Bolbo (am sure I've misspelled his name). Very clean and large for an adult family of three and the location made it easy to get around by walking or public transportation. We ran into places which placed restrictions on when you could arrive for breakfast but the Alba House didn't impose any of those which helped us get an early start.
The staff at Alba Hills went beyond the call of duty to make an early
Valentines city trip perfect; flowers, a card, a heart balloon and
chocolates were waiting for us in the room. Breakfast was great - a
choice of continental buffet and cooked traditional. The hotel is a
gentle 20 minute walk from the heart of Edinburgh, with plenty of
interesting shops en route.
Very friendly and helpful staff - waited up for me for a very late check in (about 11 pm), prepared early breakfast (7 am) when I went on an excursion. Full English breakfast included, cooked on order, especially for you. Free internet. Enough sockets in the room.
I thought the single room was more than adequate, the shower was large with enough room to shower properly. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of possible combinations. The staff were exceedingly friendly and cared about your needs.
Alba Hills is a very comfortable b and b, staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Located about 25 minutes walk to the centre of Edinburgh but buses were frequent and the bus stop close by. Can highly recommend.
The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. The room was comfortable and little touches such as free chocolates and toiletries really make a difference. The location is very handy and the view of Arthur's Seat is neat.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They went the extra mile in helping us sort out a particular problem.
The beds were comfortable, breakfast was good. A half hour walk to the Royal Mile. Close enough to Arthur's Seat.
Such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The staff are really helpful and informative. Access to the City center is really easy. A really wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend Alba Hills Guest House to anyone.
The staff were most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend this guest house to our friends and family and will most definately use this again when visiting Edinburgh.
The most friendly and helpful hotel I have stayed at. Everything that could have been done to make our stay memorable, was done. I can thoroughly recommend this establishment.
We liked everthing about the Alba .the location staff ,breakfast was all exellent i would deff stay there again.
Friendly knowledgable staff, lovely decor, excellent breakfast, comfy & very clean.
Very clean facilities and extremely friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious!.
Clean and within 30 mins walking of city centre. Plenty buses to and from city.
Traditional tasty english breakfast, lovely house type hotel, friendly staff.
Friendly, helpful staff who looked after us really well.
Very friendly, helpful, courteous staff.
Location for the specific purpose of my trip, staff very helpful especially the manageress.
It was quite comfortable and the staff were friendly.
The breakfast.
The owner (itziar) is very friendly and very happy to help and answer and questions etc. I went for the Open golf weekend and she was up earlier every morning making everyone's breakfast. Nice lady.
Water pressure is not too strong, so the shower may be a little bit disappointing, but it is no bother, and it won't affect your stay;).
A minor niggle - they could do with a wifi repeater to improve coverage
as we could only connect if we stood by the door or in the shower!.
The window in my room didn't open, but this is a minor thing. On the whole, excellent value for money.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Sightly hard pillow.
Room 9, the noise when you turn tap on or flush toilet is like a pneumatic drill.
nothing.
Some traffic noise, but that's what you get in the city.
Other guests talking late at night outside the bedrooms on the landing.
Not having bacon or pork sausage, en-suite was cramped, young man on reception is a bit over bearing and dresses too casually, he should wear socks & shoes with dress trousers & a proper shirt for starters. Limited parking.
Room was very cold. We were greeted by a young man (relative?) in his pyjamas. Not very professional.
Room was very small for a double, and the tv only played radio stations. Very little storage.Although the booking says external private bathroom it was too far away.
