The proprietors made a point of being there when we arrived to greet us,even though we were late due to travel times/traffic, they welcomed usand were full of knowledge of the area, the hotel is a lovely placebeautifully decorated and the rooms are just about perfect, and thesetting very nice indeed, its a pity we only had a short time there, butI would definatly stay there again. the guys there were very welcoming and easy to talk to. tidy and comfortable place to stay in, not very far from town centre. thanks for the stay guys!.

They have the most comfortable bed. Clean hotel, friendly staff, easy access to Buxton. Staff went out of their way to help me place champagne secretly in my daughters bedroom !. Very nice staff, huge brand new accommodation, new widescreen LCD TV, lots of heaters, good value for money. The staff are very friendly, views and apartments are amazing. Comfortable bed. One small thing, the breakfast was not very imaginitive, and the choicewas rather limited compared to a similar European hotel.Restaurant food is mundane but good value. Didn't book it for the self-catering, and perhaps they add things when you do. But was bemused by the lack of plates and cutlery in the apartment. As well as the lack of plug for the bath. Location - behind indutrial warehouses. unfortunately chef didn't turn up for breakfast so no full english but part refund offered immediately. Room ok, but didn't seem part of hotel, little tucked away outside. The door key did not lock the door.There was no one around when I wantedbreakfast and to book out. There was no apolology for no breakfast. The room smelt damp, possibly just the room I was staying in Quite difficult to find, sat nav takes you the wrong direction, once down Staden lane follow signs for hotel. On arrival we had to wait a good length of time before any staffappeared. We felt that the quality of the pillows was very poor andcheap. Also we missed touches like drinking glasses in the bath room andconsidering a 4 star hotel poor toiletries. Also the location was a bitstrange in that access was gained via an industrial estate and a verybumpy unmade road and not a country estate. breakfast was awful. Vegetarian was usual without the meat so poor value for money. English breakfast I'm told was dire....there were no sheets on my bed; no hairdryer as was advertised; no telephone in room; ordered steak was then told they were none left, ordered salmon instead, very poorly cooked-very greasy. Hotel is not what it pretends to be. Check in time was 2pm. I booked the most expensive room with whirlpool bath intending to have a relaxing afternoon and unwind before going to dinner and the theatre. No hot water until the evening even then not sufficient to fill a bath. Totally useless. Industrial estate setting horrible. Breakfast extremely poor. Not to be recommended.The restaurant was closed on arrival at 8-20 in the evening The cold buffet selection was poor Bed too soft Bathroom floor freezing cold. Motel not hotel, unfinished room, fridge and radiator not connected tomains,shower feeble and water leaked up under bedroom carpet ! Breakfastexperience worst ever (we're 65/62 ) very understaffed - 40mins for oneround of toast and one bacon and egg. Extremely overpriced !. Staff not turning up Sunday morning and no management to be seen. Very basic, most definitely not a country house hotel. Most misleading ! View from window over cow sheds and a dump for car tyres. Strange smell. Close to industrial site.The room and bathroom (if you could call it that) had numerous daddy long legs and other creepy crawlies. The room was not cleaned after our first night, therefore had to ask for clean tea cups in order to have a cuppa. The bathroom was the smallest I had ever seen - only enough room to stand between the toilet and shower.
