The hotel was located in the old town centre, short stroll from magnificent views and all town monuments and attractions.   Charming quaint old building. Room was huge and our bed was two beds put together as one, but comfy enough.(This is rather the norm in Italy). Giussepina also made - We travelled with another couple so this was like sharing an apartment. Giuseppina was a wonderful host helping us with suggestions on whereto eat, (all of which we loved) even though she had little English. Son Giuseppe carried our bags up the 3 flights of stairs and down again on our departure. Wonderful breakfast. Would absolutely recommend.

Ispica is interesting for the cava d'Isp - Very eclectic and modern design, the room was very comfortable with lots of storage space and high end shower and bath soaps. The location is rural and very peaceful, the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast was a delicious mix of local dishes and fresh fruit. The lady in charge was very graceful and helpful. I would describe the Balarte as the Gugenheim in the middle on the Scicilian countryside !
