Everything. Food is really good. Rooms with private bathroom are
perfect. People are friendly and speak English. They can advice you to
know what to do during your trip and help you for booking transports
tickets. Location is good (close to the old townand the lake) because
you can use bikes (10yuan for 5hours) -

We had a nice time in Dali Ancient Town. There is plenty of options what
to do there and around. The Old town itself is ofc a big market place,
so, one shop next to each other, but the place has a very nice
atmosphere. You can spend one day in the streets of Old town and then
you can rent a bike and go arnd to visit the nearby monastery or lake or

The Jade Emu ticks all the boxes for a Hostel and more. Our room - Delux King- had a huge comfortable bed with electric blanket, the bathroom was well appointed, even had bathtub and above head heater lights. There was also a fan heater in the room, everything was spotlessly clean. An outside street light shone into the room, but we talked to management who were not aware of that problem and they were going to fix it with a thicker curtain.

Your host Ling runs a little gem here, right outside of the west gate of
Dali old town, up the hill in a quiet little street. She speaks fluent
English, is extremely helpful and was lovely with the kids (our 4 year
old daughter was still waving goodbye to Ling when our plane left off
from Chengdu a week later).

We booked this at the last minute as we did not like our original
hotel.Lin the owner spoke wonderful English and made us feel so
welcomed! She helped us everyday with what to do,wrote out any questions
we had in Chinese for us to get around better,her charm and patience was
the highlight of our stay! The place is outside the downtown area by a
10 minute walk but it was so easy to get arong then come home and have
restful nights, We stayed on the 3rd floor and had great access to the
patio wher

The hanging garden is my favorite in ErHai Gate No.1, the warm and thoughtful boss, the big comfort bed and the cute pets, everything is excellent, really appreciated for all of above.

The cleanest hostel I've ever stayed. The great taste of the owner made this place a piece of art. Away from the very commercial district, quiet, but convenient. Definitely our best choice in Dali. -
It's a fabulous guest house,wonderful facilities and feels like home.
