Franklin Villa has a real sense of history about it - this huge house has been beautifully maintained over many years. We loved the eccentric collections of objects (never a dull corner), the lush garden, and the excellent outdoor lap pool. The house is very close to the cafes and shops of funky West End, though the location isn't so practical if you want to spend most of your time in the CBD. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. Excellent.

It was such a perfect location for our nostalgia day and night in West End. The country style kitchen and freedom to use all the very attractive and somewhat antique areas was perfect for us. The master bedroom with city views over the spa was a treat. Thanks very much. This was a wonderful place to stay, lovingly restored, full of character and home comforts. We were really impressed by the well equipped kitchen, the extensive verandas and the excellent pool. wonderful old world Australia rooms with stunning view of the city from verandah. The view was spectacular, especially at night and the room, decor was very nice. I really liked the atmosphere, chracter and history of the Villa. The whole floor to myself The view from the room Friendly staff. Beautiful house with big bedroom and nice owner. Clean and quite, lots of space in room and friendly staff. View and location. The day bed was nice. The windows (in our room at least) need insect screens so that they can be opened without letting in mosquitoes etc. We like fresh air!. It was as well the loft was being used by people who were hardly there though he was a bit drunk and silly on return!! If it was really cold the eating places would need heating. The spa bath wastes alot of water!! Recycling rubbish areas would be eco friendly. The review q 1,3,6 needs to have different themes as none of them were quite appropriate eg - river walks,. Extra bed was a bit too antique for comfort Awkward little step into bathroom. lovely bathroom is across from room so not for wandering around naked after a shower. Filter coffee somewhere would have been nice. Felt the decor of the room could have been better, it was a bit bare/stark compared to the picture online. Not being able to stand under the shower. Share bathroom across hallway, old guest house would be the way to describe, and wooden floors and walls not very private. No smoke alarm $5 soft drinks and water The 4ft high celing in the bath/shower area - the bathroom was described as 'compact', a better description is Oompa Loompa freindly. Bathroom door not staying closed and no exhaust fan in the toilet/bathroom. Loose fittings in bathroom. No glasses - except for Champagne. Main room light/fan not working.
