Hyggelig personale, trivelig hotell. - The Hotel was perfect. Located 10 minutes stroll to York Centre. Hotel itself was of a very high standard. Staff were very friendly. The staff are amazingly friendly and really made us feel welcome. Everyone was cheerful, helpful and all round nice. It felt more like a family hotel than a chain hotel (and I mean that as a positive comment.)

I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels. The Guy Fawkes Inn is such a great place, the location is spot-on for a stay in York, the place is steeped in history and the rustic charm of the inn is amazing, you feel like you've travelled back in time once you step through the door, but in a good way :)
The staff are amazing, very professional and very friendly, you feel at home straight away.
The rooms are great, very clean and comfortable with great facilities.

Although I have ticked city trip, because that is what we did in York, The Lamb & Lion comes under a different description. It has lots of character. We stayed in the Attic, it was beautiful. Really comfortable. Brilliant being in the middle of York, parked in Marygate carpark and didn't go back until we left. Staff lovely, left the phone charger in the room when we left, Manager posted it back to me next day, no problem. Breakfast delightful. Would definitely go back.
