I really liked the warm welcome we received from AJ, who made us tea and coffee with some very tasty cake on our arrival. AJ was very accommodating and offered for us to use her fridge to keep our drinks cool etc. All you have to do is ask and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. What a lovely lady. Then at breakfast we met Sue, she was just as lovely as AJ and she was very informative about the area and what to do for our day ahead. Again nothing was too much trouble and I really felt that.
alle vurderinger » The owner AJ, was so welcoming and offered us a coffee and cake on arrival after a long journey. She even called the taxi firm to book us a taxi for the following morning to go to the cruise ship without us having to ask her. The B&B was very like home from home and most comfortable. The breakfast the following morning was incredible. We will definitely use this guest house again and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks again AJ. The details that had gone into the room - nothing was missing. The proprietor was very friendly and welcoming and even offered up a pot of tea on arrival. The room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the house. Breakfast was excellent, both in quality and quantity and nothing was too much trouble. The team of staff couldn't do enough to make our stay more Welcome. On arrival we were served afternoon tea with homemade cakes and biscuits, it was an absolute pleasure. The breakfast menu would put a 5* establishment to shame. 3 cheers for the guest house who originally was named after the boat Alcantara. Very welcoming owner who accommodated my motorcycle in her garage out of the rain even though there was secure parking at the rear of the property. Bed comfortable although the room would have been snug for 2 it was fine for 1. Excellent breakfast using fresh locally sourced produce. We have stayed at many Guest Houses and think that this is by far the best we have been to. There's a nice pub in the corner of the street, just 100mtrs, with great homemade food such as hamburgers (they do the meat), pizzas, steak... Breakfast freshly prepared from top quality ingredients and served in real china makes this a much more personal experience, much better than even the top rated hotels. I was made to feel very welcome, and there were thoughtful touches everywhere, such as a enough milk and coffee/tea in room, a dressing gown, tissues, a fan, a colourful blanket and cheerful decor. Absolutely spotless and handy for the city centre and the common. AJ was very welcoming. Although I was a bit late to check in she welcomed me in a great manner. Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was great and could be customized to your need to a certain extent. All in all a great one night trip for me. When I arrived AJ brought me a pot of tea and cake, lovely thank you, staff very friendly, room perfect for one, comfortable, clean, breakfast was very good and choice was excellent. I had en suite room and was great value. I enjoyed staying there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. As it was cold in my room I had been proposed to move to a warmer room. Food is good. Nothing. parking can be tricky with a narrow side road to car park but doable. just wish hotel was 15 minutes nearer the sea front. Whats not to like. It was a little bit out of town but lovely. The drain pipe run off woke me at 5am due to heavy rain, I think there was a cap at the end that was tapping. minimal natural light into my room. Toilet/shower room would have been too small for anyone above average size. ..... the weather!!. Leaving. none. There was nothing we did not like. Slight damp smell Shower had no water pressure. nothing. nothing not to like. Nothing worth a mention. just a bit out of the way to centre, but managed to walk it in 20mins so wasnt too bad, good value tho.
