The staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist was polite and did her best to deal with my complaint about the room. She arranged for me to see various different rooms to move to, none of which were satisfactory. However, this was not her fault and she, along wth the porter, were polite and friendly. The hotel location. Lack of parking.no parking. I was woken at 6-am by a cement mixer or some other machine. Many things just did not work. No heating in the room. No ventilation inthe en-suite. The electronic keys, we only had one that worked. Lots oflittle things like the glass doors to the car park - could not be openedfully inwards as it hit the floor, curtains in the room coming off thetrack, gents loo - one of the basins could not drain as the plugmechanism did not work. The hotel was vastly over priced. One night cost £165 for a double room. I expected near to luxury for this money. The first room i was shown was tiny and very dark and looked out onto a wl. I moved to a brighter room which was still very small. It only had a shower, no bath. There was no wardrobe, just a rail on the wall that was uncovered. The hall ways were quite shabby. The service was very poor, the heating was too high, and people were smoking below my room, I could not sleep at all.
