Bank house is a beautiful period property and the owners have gone to great lengths to get the decor and furnishings just right. The food was outstanding, we class ourselves as 'foodies' and were certainly not disappointed, the menu was extensive and the fresh fruit salad on your table was a lovely addition. My wife and I stayed a few nights at The Ashberry Guest House. it is ideally located for both Penrith town centre and the North Lakes, northern M6 area. The owners are very helpful but not overbearing. The guest house itself is very modern, clean and comfortable. And the full English breakfast was very nice. Overall a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend it.

The location was great - right in the middle of town with parking. The breakfast was good too. The staff were just the right side of friendly and very helpful too. Angie the owner greeted us and was very helpful telling us of walks in the area. Food was excellent and the bar had a lovely friendly atmosphere. The poached eggs for breakfast were superb. A wonderful place to break our journey on the way to Scotland could have done with a longer stay.

Everything about the stay was delightful. From arriving with a warm welcome to recommendations for food that evening, Alex and Jeff were very helpful and polite in everything they did. One particular aspect that stands out in the breakfast, a stunning selection of everything you could ever wish for! Home made bread and scones with homemade jam, lovely! The room that me and my girlfriend stayed in was expected of somewhere of this calibre, very clean, very comfortable and a nice place to be. Ale
