  Very good value for money. Lovely flowers and chocs in room on arrival, food was excellent (our compliments to the chef and staff) and a lovely location.   The Cambrian is right in the middle of Llangollen...a 2 min walk from the main street. It has its own secure car park. The owner was helpful and friendly and breakfast was good. OK the decor is a bid dated but NOT tatty/grubby, it's no boutique hotel but that was of no concern to me! The whole place is very clean and the bed was comfy.   We had dinner in the Royal Hotel Restaurant. it was very enjoyable good steak and the wine wasfirst class. - The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was a perfect location for our stay. We found our room to be spacious and the view of the river was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

The double rooms have a lovely balcony looking out to the river it is lovely. We found all staff friendly, our room overlooked the river which made our stay tranquil. Nothing was too much for staff. The breakfast was 5 star - excellent, hot, hot, hot. I was upgraded to the top room in the building because it was Sunday and the lounge was closed on that day, so if you are looking for an extra large room, that was it, as it had a large bedroom, double bed, entry hall and large separate lounge room. The pub has private free parking. - The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, complete with an enormous flat-screen tv. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant served delicious and interesting food. Gales is centrally located in the town of Llangollen, which is incredibly charming, with plenty of opportunities for hiking nearby. Great overall experience.

  The hotel was described in it's brochure as 'Luxury on the River Dee'...and it certainly was that! Our room was large, clean and had a balcony with fantastic views overlooking the river. I would definitely recommend booking one of the VIP rooms for the extra £20 or so.
