  This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We were hoping to book a hotel closer to the city centre, but as ours was a last minute booking, we were limited for choice. As it turned out, the Britannia was just perfect for us and we're now very pleased we chose it. We live in a very busy area of London, and our first night at the Britannia was the most ... hva folk sier » peaceful and quietest sleep we'd had in years. Just lovely and perfect for us. My partner is a University student studying Fine Art, and we were on he - The price was nice and the sleep was good: these are main criteria for a good stay. The hotel itself is ugly, massive, chain-like, but people are okay, walking distance to town attractive, there is a park and a river road, so, I recommend this place!

In fact being near the station meant parking was very convenient as we were able to use the station car park (£6 per day). Breakfast good. Free internet. Stayed in a single room but it was very spacious - didn't feel at all cramped. Was well appointed. Breakfast was great. Location is good too - across from Haymarket station and only a 10 minute walk to Princes Street. Would definitely recommend it.

  The hotel is friendly, clean and excellent value for money. It is situated a short walk from town, has some very good restaurants and pubs nearby and is a ten minute walk from an IMAX. It is also a short hop to the zoo. There is parking available but this can be pricey, or if you want the take the train it is literally over the road from Haymark... hva folk sier » et station. We have stayed here twice now and will definitely be returning. It has everything we need on the doorstep and we always enjoy chilling - The room was spectacular! Great services within the room, eg. Ironing board, hairdryer, bath, flat screen tv. Plus 24 hour reception and friendly staff! Great location only a 10/15 min walk to the city centre and Edinburgh station, while haymarket station is 5 mins away! Great bars, restaurants and cafes a few mins away! Great for a couples get away or a city break!
