  The hotel building was very impressive, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was superb and the food was excellent. Ideally placed for us, as we were attending the March & Rally for Scottish Independence on Calton Hill that weekend.   Sentralt beliggende - The decor was great in the hotel. Was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. It felt tremendously homely and the bed was so comfortable. Went for the weekend ghost hunting and the hotel added to the ambience. The bath had jets in it and since Edinburgh is so hilly sorted out our weary legs. Great :) - The room (410) was excellent, very modern decor with a large bathroom and plasma TV above the Bath! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was great. Breakfast choice was varied and of a high standard and the hotel itself is a wonderful Georgian building. Some of the reviews I had read portrayed the hotel badly, I would say totally ignore this - it is a great hotel.

  This hotel has impressed me: 1st, the host (Marion) makes you feel at home and gives you useful instructions and tips. Then, the room was spacious, confortable and clean. Location is great, you can either walk or take a bus/taxi. Plenty of restaurants in the nearby area. I will definately come back. - When we arrived the introduction/explanation of services etc was good with clear, simple explanation of what to do and where things were. The 'owners' were very welcoming. Brown's was very clean; there was good provision of every day items, teas, coffees and toiletries. Breakfast was also good with a good range of items. No critique at all.
