  I loved the location, short walking distance to town centre, University, Railway station. I loved it's quirky creaky floors, wooden beams etc. It was clean and comfortable, lovely soft bed with crisp linen, tv wi-fi tea/cpffee facilities. Staff were helpful and friendly. When I returned in the evening the pub was packed with pub quizzers deep in t... hva folk sier » hought but I was able to relax in my room in comfort and barely heard them. - Lovely old building, staff very friendly, helpful offered to carry my bag up to my room....was shown where breakfast takes place and into my room I was in room 3, which shares a wall with the kitchen (albeit below me) and there was quite a bit of noise from staff radio...I spoke to reception who quickly and efficiently sorted out the problem - couldn't ask for more!

  Welcome at reception was warm and friendly she showed us to our room and advised what time dinner was on til.. Our room was perfect for what we wanted with a door leading to an outdoor sun catcher garden We had an amazing meal followed by a huge desert! Ended the night in a comfortable bed, fully working air con which is bliss on the hottest day of - The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and happy: something that is rare in the hotel and leisure industry. The accommodation was immaculate. Beautifully decorated: individual and chic. The bar and restaurant staff were knowledgeable, helpful and had a sense of humour. It was our first visit to The Lion but it most certainly be our last. Absolutely perfect.

  We were made extremely welcome. I had asked a question on the booking form, which was replied to immediately, which gave me peace of mind. The room was comfortable, and clean.
