Dont judge the hotel from the outside which looks tired and dated once inside you are in for a pleasant suprise. The foyer and reception area are bright and modern and the staff pleasant and helpfull. Our rooms were spotless and well equipped. All in all a great hotel and excellent value for money. I had a very enjoyable stay @ the clubhouse hotel. Stayed for 2 nights using it as a base to travel across various towns from Aberdeen to Inverness. As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable eating in the bar area. The staff were excellent and could no do enough to make you feel welcome & relaxed in this hotel. I would certainly recommend this to my friends & family.

This place was perfect! The beds were delightfully soft, the pillows
fluffy, the bathroom sunny and roomy. The breakfast was delicious. The
garden was wonderful and the path to the beach couldn't be better.
The staff were excellent as well, the lady there gave us a tip to go to
the Nairn Caeligh the evening we stayed there. We ended up winning a
bottle of sherry and were out danced by 80 year old women. This hotel
was a splurge for us and I wish we could have spent our entire trip
there, it was

Ross was an exceptional host. His nature/personality is perfect to be the Host of Royston.
His Home/Guest House is warm and inviting as he is what a wonderful time we had plenty of talking, laughter and good times.
Nothing was too much trouble and the cleaniness and décor was just like home.

Piping hot breakfast served at table and good choice on buffet.Two establishments close by for evening meals. The owner was friendly and offered local advice. We did not stay long, but the staff person there was extremely helpful. We arrived at 1 in the morning, and were easily able to get into our room. He also accommodated our need for an early breakfast the following morning, and he gave us a map with walking directions to the train station. Our room was spartan, as all youth hostel rooms are, but it was clean and comfortable. And the price, 22 pounds per person per night, could not be beat.
