  We liked everything. Felt totally at home, so much so that we sat on the lounge floor in front of the 'real' fire each evening with the news papers and a drink. How relaxing is that? The people running the hotel were so friendly and helpful. We would recommend it to everyone. The pool needs a special mentiion too, my family think we should get one ... hva folk sier » just like it in our garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - This really is a wonderful place to stay. Only 8 rooms, but worth a 5 star hotel. Spacious room and bathroom, swimmingpool and jacuzzi !   The location - just 10 min walk into the heart of the city (and the new Cabot Circus shopping center which my wife and daughter both loved)! The hotel staff were all very friendly and very efficient and gave excellent and professional customer service at all times. Although the bathroom was quite small - the actual bedroom was quite spacious and th... hva folk sier » e bed very comfy! - We only stayed one night but the room was as we expected and only a short walk from pubs and resturants, staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar. The breakfast was great, big selection.

  Stayed here on the way to Glastonbury festival last week, ideal location about 40mins away from site. axebridge is lovely little village with everything you need in one square, ideal hotel, clean and faultless! More importantly the staff went above and beyond for us, the girls at reception were really helpful (sorry didn't take their names), even ... hva folk sier » helping us with directions for the following day, was handy havin a local's point of view! Seriously can't stress how impressed we were with this plac - This B & B is lovely. The staff and food make this place shine. The design/decor is tasteful and compliments the age and style of the building. The restaurant food is complex, tasty and although portions sizes are small, because of the richness in the food it is sure to fill you up! The wine list is very reasonable and there is a good selection of wines to choose from. We would defiantly stay here again and recommend it to our friends.

  The Crown is in an excellent position in this lovely little city: right on the market square (some noise in the early mornings twice a week but the hotel provides ear plugs and the farmers' market is excellent) opposite the cathedral and bishop's palace. You can walk straight out onto the cobbled streets of the high street or walk around the peace... hva folk sier » ful gardens of the bishop's palace. The Crown is very old, so floors are a bit uneven but this just adds to the character. The bedroom decor is lookin - I've stayed in a couple of chain hotels recently for business which were as expensive, or much more expensive than the Crown, and though the rooms were high end, everything else was pretty awful. The Crown is a complete ray of sunshine by comparison - really delicious food (and phenomenally good value if you eat an evening meal between 6 - 7pm - only 13 quid for three courses of fabulous home cooked restaurant grade food).
