  Excellent hotel from A-Z. As a frequent traveler i don't get overexcited easily, but this hotel really deserves the max points. If you have the chance, take the suite having two balconies with direct view of the Matterhorn - awesome and worth every single buck.   We were pleasantly surprised to stay at the Hotel Communal as our original hotel couldn't fulfill the reservation. We were warmly greeted by the owner and he made sure that the rooms fit our family's need. The restaurant attached to the hotel was fabulous -- a great place to relax after skiing in Champery. Certainly will recommend and look to stay again if in the Portes du Soliel area. - Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Ideal base for the Portes du Soleil with Morgins 15 mins away, and Chatel 25 mins without having to pay the prices of hotels in those resorts.

  Rooms were clean and comfortable. Our balcony had a view of the Matterhorn, as did the restaurant terrace. Good breakfast.   It's very conveniently located for the Sunnegga/Rothorn funicular and Gornergrat train. The staff were very kind and helpful to my elderly parents.   The host Christoph Imboden is fantastic. He was very helpful during our stay and provided important information for maximizing our visit to the Zermatt area (seeing the Matterhorn, etc.).
