Besides the fact that the hotel is an interior design gem in the middle of Colombo and the staff were fantastic from start to finish - at the end of our trip my wife fell very ill. The hotel staff rushed us to the hospital, where they didn't speak English, they stayed with me and dealt with everything until around 3am. They were patient, caring, and generally fantastic. this was my second time I stayed at the saffron. first time i came for my business and i had a good time in my first stay. that is why i decided to come second time with my wife to stay in the saffron. we had a very good time and my wife was very happy. we got a nice room with antique furniture. and hotel staff arranged city tour. it was really nice. we enjoyed in the beach and could see nice places. food also really nice. we could arranged a trip to kandy with a hotel car. everything was good.

I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of my trip to Sri Lanka. Check in was efficient and my room was large, clean and bright. There were two twin beds pushed together which I don't like but they were large beds so no problem. There's a/c and a good fan. The bathroom is large and clean and everything works.
There's a good range of sports channels on the TV and a large movie collection available to borrow.
