  Great stay! Hotel Safir should be more than 2*; our room was big and had all the facilities we needed: fridge, kitchenette, good bathroom, good bed, TV WiFi, air conditioning... Pretty good. Location great, in two minutes you are in Sebilj, in the main square. My room was ready as soon as I got there, so I was able to immediately crash. It was basically like getting a free night.   The hotel was easy to find (I took tram #1 from the train/bus station to Bascarsija) and in an excellent location within easy walking distance of the old town (Bascarsija). Despite being on a main road close to the old town, the rooms are located away from the street so are quiet. The front desk was helpful in explaining how to find the other bus station to catch the bus to Belgrade - The staff were wonderful. The hotel is right at the Old Town, and were really helpful for going places, suggestions for cafes, restaurants etc. Maja and her team were especially thoughtful regarding any little extra that was needed, and were very happy to extend themselves. Nothing was too much trouble. During very cold Spring weather, the hotel was heated beautifully to a very good room temperature, and bed and room very comfortable. Wi fi worked quite well.

  We went to Sarajevo and we wanted a hotel in the city center. This hotel couldn't have been any closer to the old city center and what a find. The staff was warm and friendly; the room was spotless; and the Wi-Fi worked really well in the room. Second of all, the staff is maybe the best I have ever met, the girls in front and also the maneger make the best to please the clients and to make them feel confortable. All in all, it is a hotel that I honestly recommend.

Continental buffet breakfast (included in room price) was excellent with cheeses and pastries as well as the usual cereal, fruit, yogurt etc. I read somewhere that they don't have water after 11 PM, but it's not true, we had all night.   We had rented a car in Croatia, apparently not safe when parked on the streets of Sarajevo. Halvat had parking garages for customers to use as well as street parking. The staff communicated directly with us prior to our leaving the us and while traveling. They were very clear regarding directions and forwarded a helpful map so we could easily find... hva folk sier » the hotel. The breakfasts were generous and freshly prepared. Our room was large and full of windows. Street noise was minimal past 11:00pm. Keep in - Location, location, location: Halvat is as close to Baščaršija as you can get without being in it, and just steps away from restaurants, shopping, and a grocery store. The rooms are comfortable, the beds bedecked with an obscene amount of pillows. It's nice and quiet, too. Contributing greatly to our stay was helpful advice from Amina, the front desk attendant, who gave us a bunch of terrific restaurant and nightlife recommendations. Her help really improved our trip!
