Having read many reviews beforehand, it is known that the hotel itself is not in the Hallstatt downtown and does not have a lake view. However, it is strategically located: 1) very near the bus stop and downtown, yet without all the noise; 2) roads to the hotel are flat, no problems for people towing luggages; 3) has a carpark; 4) virtually beside the saltmine cable station and near a waterfall. We spent 5 lovely days in Landhous Fay at the beginning of May. The house is situated probably in the best part of Bad Ischl, surrounded by pure nature and still close to the town (about 5-10 minutes by car). Rene and Mark are lovely couple, always helpful and with good advice when it comes to places worth visiting. We were also very satisfied with our room which was very nice designed, so as dinning room. We highly recommend Landhous Fay as a perfect place to stay.
