  We had three rooms- two with balconies and one without. All were a little bit different, but very cute. The included breakfast was a great way to start the day. They were able to hold us luggage for us the following day. A note: While I appreciate that the invoice included a tear-off coupon for the salt mines, it ends up that's it's only for 1 per... hva folk sier » son! So if you want a 2 euro discount for each person in your group, make sure to ask the front desk at Gasthof Bergfried for additional vouchers. - Loved the location, very close to center of Halstatt. If you are using gps don't trust it. The street is the first one on the right as you come out of the tunnel. Street looks like a small one way but the hotel is close with good parking. If I hadn't been watching the gps so closely I would have seen their big sign. Very nice big room but the location was awesome and town beautiful.

  - Great location, not in the central of the town but only 5-10 minutes walk with beautiful scene along the way. Peaceful location and free parking in front of the house. Reco - Having read many reviews beforehand, it is known that the hotel itself is not in the Hallstatt downtown and does not have a lake view. However, it is strategically located: 1) very near the bus stop and downtown, yet without all the noise; 2) roads to the hotel are flat, no problems for people towing luggages; 3) has a carpark; 4) virtually beside the saltmine cable station and near a waterfall.   Quite a spacious and, at the same time, cosy apartment with a big bedroom and living room with kitchen, sofa and TV. Part of a nice guest house with courtyard and a little garden. Nicely equipped. Very clean. Nice location, although outside the main historic centre, it's just an easy and wonderful walk away - and it's surrounded by the mountains ... hva folk sier » and next to a little river. Location of the apartment is good once you are in the hallstatt.It is very near to the bus stop but a bit far from the ferry's stop.If you have luggage, I would recommend to book a cab/taxi.It is about 15 min walk from ferry's stop.
