  this hotel was in a great location, close enough to walk to city centre, yet far enough away from city noise. Very clean rooms. Receptionist kindly gave us a key to put our bags in room and freshen up even though our room was not quite ready. - The breakfasts were excellent.   There was a confusion regarding a spa room and we were upgraded with no problems as soon as we discovered mistake. We also had another issue which the owner/manager sorted out straight away with not a problem. We were very impressed. Accomodation was comfortable. Pengiun's were so cute. - Good facilities/environment; resort room is nice, spacious... hva folk sier » & comfortable. Most spectacular is the penguin night-view, for which the resort staff is very kind to light up the penguin walking path so can have a fairly close view of penguin go-home scene. Highly recommended.

  While we were at Hawley House there was only one other couple visiting. This gave us an experience of indulgent pampering. It feels very special to have an excellent chef cater for so few. We had a delightfully comfortable room, with magnificent views of the sea, the grounds and the surrounding countryside. We had no idea that there was a nature r... hva folk sier » eserve within the grounds. That came as a massive bonus. Did I mention the cuisine? It was excellent! Each meal was an education in flavours, textures - The house and gardens are beautiful and in a lovely position close to the beach. We loved the decor, especially in the bedroom. Although we only had breakfast the quality of the food was excellent. The staff were exceptionally helpful. We really wished we could have stayed longer.

  Our stay here was an "old world" experience, wonderful. Not just somewhere to stay, it was like going to a play or the opera. Such a privilege to stay in a 1800 heritage building. Lydia and James made us very welcome and provided an excellent dinner by the fire and also a wonderful breakfast. We stayed in the suite overlooking the river.
