  The Wilderness Retreat is in a wonderful location, near(ish) to the entrance to the fabulous Flinders Chase National Park and near the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (don't miss the Koalas there). Importantly for travelers not self-catering, and not allowed to drive rental cars after dusk, the Retreat has the only restaurant open for dinner at that... hva folk sier » end of Kangaroo Island. The restaurant experience for 2 dinners and breakfasts ranged from quite good to very good - depending on the staff at the ti - great location, right in the heart of the wilderness. friendly, helpful staff the design of the hotel is both in harmony with the surrounds, and also encourages interaction between guests with shared communal areas. Great place!

  You don't have much choice when going to Kangaroo island. This place gave us everything we're going to get: wildlife just as close as your door, comfortable house to have a rest after several hours in the car, even a kitchen and BBQ. All directions are quite close (just remember - the island is large itself!). Just a warning: if you hear a horribl... hva folk sier » e sound outside - like somebody's dying - that's koala talks :) - the best camping ever, eating with kangaroos and koalas is just amazing!!you can also have a walk in a lagoon very close to the camping...with beatiful spots.
