  The atmosphere was formal yet relaxed, the staff were professional and prompt. The room was perfect, very clean and comfortable! - Only slept, showered and left so difficult to comment, however one ofthe cups in our bedroom was dirty, left from previous occupantpresumably.

  Fantastic environment for a family trip to marwell zoo! We loved theattention to detail in the hotel and rooms even down to the animal printmugs and penguin biscuits!   The meal we had was fantastic! The meatiest, largest lamb shank with delicious gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, carrots and peas. Apple & rhubarb crumble with lashings of custard. MMMMMMMM! The hotel was directly across from the cruise liner we were visiting. We were able to make a free phone call for a taxi to the Art Gallery. Good location, close to the West Quay, Train Station and a Cinema is within 5 minutes walk. Guildhall is 10 -15 minutes walk away. Also have a MacDonalds and tfi Friday's close by. Rooms are basic, clean and ideal for a night or two can't fault.

  het is een geweldig leuk hotel, oorspronkelijk uit ca. 1500 (!) en zo ziet het er in eerste instantie ook uit van buiten: echt een sprookjesachtig decor in een heel mooie omgeving. Van binnen is alles keurig op orde, heel mooi de oude stijl daargelaten maar keurig netjes en schoon en gerenoveerd zodat het volledig voldoet aan de moderne, hoge, maat... wat mensen zeggen » staven. Ik ben echt heel enthousiast! - staff were friendly and helpful,the food in the restaurant was excellent,i had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel will definately stay there again - I will gladly recomend this hotel to my family and friends due to the courteous treatment we received during our short stay

  our stay started with what might be in other case a trouble - the room we wanted to stay was double booked,and as we wanted maximum comfort we were bit disappointed. But we were given a lovely room for one night,smaller but cheaper and free drinks, and next day we were transmitted to the room we wanted, and given nice discount. Both rooms were nic... wat mensen zeggen » e, clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. Food also very nice. - The friendly staff created a relaxed atmosphere straight away at check in. The room was clean, sunny with a great view of the garden and New Forest beyond. All staff had a great rapport with each other and the guests. The Hotet was preparing for a Wedding the following day and it was great fun to watch the preparations.

  Friendly staff, super meals, comfortable beds and lovely old building, yes it was slightly tired, worn carpets ect.., but if I wanted modern and new I would have booked another hotel. There was lashings of hot water, heating on full, crisp white linen on beds and duvets.   I found the staff extremely helpful, efficient and always around when needed. The hotel location is really good, close to the railway station and close to the shops. The garden was really beautiful - I sat outside having my morning coffee wishing I was staying another night as they have an outdoor swimming pool which is heated.
