  The owner was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. His directions were clear and easy to follow to find the place. Breakfast was amazing and very prompt. The staff is unobtrusive and very polite. The rooms were spotless, gorgeously decorated, and quiet.   To start off our 3 days we were arriving after the check in time, but the owner stayed up to let us in and told us the best way to get into town to get something to eat. Each day we got a great offering at breakfast and our room made up. We also had to check out early on the last day, so would be missing breakfast, and upon coming home late that n... wat mensen zeggen » ight found we had been left a 'breakfast to go' in our room. We were really made to feel at home the whole stay. - This is a family guesthouse, and that explains why you feel so much at home there. The floor cover, design and dining room all make you feel a special guest. Breakfasts icluded, wifi is free. And fast. Plus a relatively close distance from the center - that's the best investment for a young couple, friends or a solo traveller who want to enjoy Edinburgh in any time of year.

  The most outstanding feature of Garfield Guest House is the staff, all of whom are friendly, flexible, and helpful. A close second is the delicious and generous breakfast, with locally sourced sausages and salmon, several menu choices each morning including vegan and vegetarian options. Buses to Old Town, New Town, and Leith stop within a few step... wat mensen zeggen » s of Garfield, and those places are all relatively walkable as well -- within about 2 miles. Within half a mile, there are a few takeaway restaurants, - Martin and Michelle were absolutely amazing! Really easy going and friendly. They went above and beyond to help us with our trip and to make sure we were comfortable with our stay. The breakfasts were great and they even made other guest's meals that weren't even on the menu!! They both work really hard and long hours and always have a smile on their faces. They made the start of our trip to Edinburgh.

  The owner was so friendly and really made you feel at home. Breakfast was lovely, more than I could eat, and when we needed to be up and out early on Sunday, he was happy to bring breakfast forward for us. The house is absolutely gorgeous, amazing staircase and beautiful breakfast room with curved wall. Great use of colour in the house and great p... wat mensen zeggen » rints and drawings everywhere. Best of all, I was never cold - radiator was more than up to the job of heating the room. Definitely stay there if I g - Rooms and public area renovated or kept in excellent shape with new furnishings; beautifully decorated. Host Bill friendly and helpful. Good Wifi. Instant coffee powder and milk generously supplied and replenished. In easy reach of centre, with necessities shopping, pubs and eateries nearby. Sufficient public parking space, bus stop a few meters away. Not exactly cheap in overall terms, but good value for Edinburgh (sigh).

  We arrived early and could book in !! So close to city centre and attractions .room HUGE more than big enough for the four of us coffee and biscuits much appreciated on cold Oct evening. Close to numerous restaurants for evening meal and it is lovely and warm on return .   My friends and I had a great time and we were even offered a free upgrade to an apartment next door that was incredibly spacious and a comfortable place to stay in for the weekend. - The manager is most helpful and friendly, the room is large and warm. Breakfast well prepared and presented.

  The Dene Guest House was the perfect choice. Not only I was provided with a clean, spacious and beautifully designed en-suite bedroom with great views but I had as well the valuable help of Ilio and Hamish in every possible aspect (from giving advice on how to spend leisure time to pointing me in the right direction whilst I was looking for a job ... wat mensen zeggen » in the city). The owners are extremely friendly yet never intrusive or insistent. I am already planning to go back soon! - Perfect location, close to centre of town. Received a very warm welcome, lovely people running the bed and breakfast in a relaxed, efficient way, they couldn`t have been more helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and had all I needed, the house itself is a beautiful old Edinburgh town house. Fantastic breakfast and I look forward to staying again for my next great night out in the big Toun!

  We came with no greater expectations because of the cheap price, but we were pleasantly surpriced! Our room was big and comfy, the atmosphere of the hotel was good, and there were a great shared living room and kitchen. A great stay for cheap money! - Clean room and friendly staff. Feeling like I was living with a family! honestly I didn't expect the room is big enough for ten people to live in, since we only had three people. Marvellous!
