The positive thing is transport is just near meaning local taxis without a hassle in just few seconds. The friendly staff of Albany hotel always available to assist with a smile.   Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. The a/c duplex unit was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and well maintained.   We simply loved this place, everything about it. Great rooms, they smell so nice and fresh :-) nice facilities, beautiful garden. Cathy and John are excellent hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. Gave us great restaurant tips and we could just listen to John's storries all day long. We didn't want to leave. Btw, breakfast is a must. We will for... wat mensen zeggen » sure come back, thank you for everything. - John and Cathy were fantastic hosts who were always available and offered superb recommendations when our plans were abruptly on hold. Location is superb, but would advise hiring a car to keep things easy, breakfasts and johns stories are worth the cash alone. Overall great value, in a great location and we can't wait to return. Jo and I felt at home from the off thanks to John and Cathy.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Gogo Brenda. We were given a fridge for our room without us even having to ask, because of the baby. I will never f - The hotel is very central and is quite lovely. It has everything that you need. The view is absolutely stunning. It is close to Ushaka and the Sun Coast Casino. If you do not want to use your car there are the "People Mover" buses that you can travel on. The room was pleasantly comfortable and quite spacious. The breakfast had a wonderful selection to choose from.

  I stayed at the Tropicana in December 2010 and was not impressed at all. During my last stay I notced a remarkable improvement, i.e refurbishment, staff, etc. Well done! - The fact that it is on the beach front and our bus just dropped us at the door, that was awesome. Value for money as well.
