  We spent one night on the way to Elba. Fantastic Tuscan views, peace and total relaxation on the go. Maybe a little hard to get to the destination. The staff couldn't do enough to help you, whether it was about your room, the local towns or where the nicest beaches were. They also spoke very good English. The room was great with everything you could need and was overlooking the valley and Volterra.

  We stayed three nights in May at the Hotel Molino D'Era and loved everything about the hotel. It was our favorite during our month long tour in Italy. Our room and bathroom were spacious, immaculate and comfortable. The hotel has an extensive garden area and a beautiful patio with lounge chairs. The parking area is huge.   The Albergo Villa Nencini is very comfortable and generously proportioned hotel. If you want an experience of Italian hospitality in a traditional style this is a great place to stay.   Etruria was a very nice small boutique hotel run by the owner, who is very kind and organized. She treated us very well, gave us directions and recommendations and a city map etc. The parking is like a 100 meters or 100 yards away, you'll see why these walled city hotels don't have parking. But it is very convenient right at the entrance of the ci... wat mensen zeggen » ty. You can walk to the hotel in less than 5 minutes. She even made sure the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is small, but it is smack in the middl - Great location in the old city with a lovely garden at the top. No lift, but if you are going to a hill town you are going to be using lots of stairs anyways. No lift was not a problem for us, but some people may, We had a view over the street from their top floor. It was interesting to watch the town wake up in the morning.

  The place is easy to find and was just enough outside of the city to feel we were in the countryside. The owner greeted us in the parking lot (almost unheard of!) to welcome us. We walked into Volterra a couple of times during our stay. It was, of course, uphill but was manageable in 10 minutes, and that with a toddler in a stroller. (Although, I ... wat mensen zeggen » would recommend a sturdy stroller like a jogger) We had requested a crib for our daughter and it was set up in the room when we arrived. We used the B - The location is wonderful for who travels with car (it is far away from train station). Locating outside the center of volterra under an ancient gate, it is easy to reach the center or the wonderfuel country landescapes by walking. The garden is exquisite, just like a mini paradise, maybe even better because it is a paradise with Wifi:) The onwer Luciana is very kind and very helpful.

  We stayed in Volterra one night on our way to Florence since my wife said we had to stay in a small Tuscan town. The town was fantastic. The hotel was excellent - very cozy room with a nice bathroom, and very quiet, and very clean. The breakfast made our day - it was fantastic and plentiful -the best breakfast we had at any of the B&B's on our... wat mensen zeggen » trip, and very tastefully done. The only rating not getting an "excellent" is the location -- it is outside the city walls, about 300 meters out the - The location, just outside the town of Volterra is excellent - five minutes walk from the old town without the bother of parking in a very congested place. The breakfast was a feast in itself. The owner was a mine of information and recommended an excellent local restaurant, La Balze, for evening meals. Excellent value for money and really nice people
