  The chateau is a unique place to stay. It's a country manor house that has been beautifully decorated in a period fashion with sumptuous wall paper, drapes, antiques and fascinating paintings, sculpture and objets d'art. You aren't staying in a museum, though, but rather a country house that feels lived in. It's authentic, not Disney-esque. He kindly made dinner reservations for us and we enjoyed a glass o - This was a perfect location for touring the Normandy area and D-Day beaches etc. This beautiful old chateau is located in the gorgeous countryside very close to the city of Bayeux so it's an easy trip to dinner, the train station, and other sights in the area. David and his partner have restored the chateau with great care and great taste!
