Looks. History. Friendliness and attentiveness of staff. Ease and value of parking. Location, location, location. Restaurant food, staff, beer and wine selection. Room. Nice place to relax. Relaxed atmosphere, but impressive historical look I really like. I hope they don't change anything!. I will go back. (these are not in order of importance). We appreciated the historic character of the building and friendly staff. Rooms a little small but beds were very comfortable. The tour of the DH Lawrence art and knowledgeable talk by the staff person was most enjoyable. Location was great.

Good restaurant newly opened. Comfortable bed. Comfortable couch in living room of suite. We especially enjoyed the restaurant, Mosaic. Location cannot be beat, within strolling distance of museums, shops, restaurants. Staff was friendly, helpful. Room comfortable. Loved staying in a bit of history. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was more that we expected. It was a no worry, no hassle stay. We loved it. Location is exceptional. Hotel is quaint, clean, and close to everything. Staff very accommodating. The location is perfect. You can spend a week without a car, walking to a great variety of sites. Location in the square....maintaining a very old building in such an excellent way. Loved the way the suite was set up. Staff was awesome. The management made our stay one to remember!. I can't think of anything I didn't like. Disappointed the restaurant was closed. Some noise between the rooms was noticeable.. Bathroom design is just plain inconvenient and almost unworkable. No flat surface. Have to carry toiletries in and out except for a small glass shelf on a pole. Everything is too high--towel bars, shower head, hooks on the door. Even a normal size adult has difficulty reaching. The outlets in the rooms are inaccessible and there are not enough. The renovation was made to be "authentic" but no attention to how modern life works. Unfortunate encounter with a skunk outside our window! It is the pitfall of being on the plaza side and near woodlands!. The weather in Taos can change fast, but the heater in the hotel reacts slowly. Several nights I went to bed freezing because the temperature dropped faster than my room could compensate. It was okay by morning, but uncomfortable in the room for hours at a time. Hornets in the room. I notified the management to look for source. Sheets for extra bed were old and had stains. Stained bedding- Slipcover was clean, but stains were very noticeable (cover should have been discarded). Thought the price way too high for what we got. For that price a breakfast should be included. Since the town rolls up the sidewalk at 6 pm staying on the Plaza is not an advantage. The "one-bedroom suite" that I booked was, in fact, 2 connecting bedrooms and one of the bedrooms was windowless. This was a bit disconcerting. Also, there was no sitting area as I would have expected in a suite. Everything was great I liked it all. Small room and very thin walls...... got a call from the front desk saying we were too loud at 10:00 at night ?? We were laughing out loud watching a movie ??? I could hear conversations in the room next door !!!!!!!!!.
