staff were helpful and friendly, hotel was very clean including rooms and modern with all you needed in them. room 108 has double and a single bed, sea view and very lovely inside. breakfast was excellent and served to your table, good location for sea view, short 10 min walk to bus stops for town and other areas. good value for money, a nice 3 star hotel and would go back. me, my 5 year old daughter and my mother stayed 3 nights, pools is great as has a shallow bit for kids, bit cool but ok

The Grainary is a working farm, with a B&B on the side, so if you like the atmosphere of a farm, off on the edge of the moors, you'll love it. Children are especially well catered for, as they have every imaginable farm animal in the fields near the house, plus dogs, rabbits, a ferret and certainly one or two I've missed. The animals are friendly and approachable, needless to say. The couple running the place are warm, smiling and welcoming, and made us feel very much at home. There are ple

relaxed atmosphere. plenty of facilities. little things like shampoo/condition, bodywash and towels in gym/swimming pool etc. - just that nothing was too much trouble for the staff and that they made it a most enjoyable stay

I particularly liked the sea view room we had, it certainly lived up to expectations. Elaine and Tony, the owners, were a very friendly couple, they took their business seriously, but in a fun way. the hosts were extremely polite. The food was exceptional. It was just a short walk into a small village to see the local sites. We especially like the places away from the crowds. - The food was absolutely delicious, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner, breakfast and for the family get-together, have to say the Buffet lunch was perfect.

All the staff were excellent and welcoming. The entrance, bar and lounge have been recently renovated and look far better than 7 years ago when I last stayed here. The lift is ‘Quirky’ with a certain old fashioned charm. Redecoration has just started on the staircase (Nov 2013) and I am sure it will be better for the work. The location for shopping is excellent and the hotel has its own secure underground car park, although it is a short walk from the hotel. The food is the best in Scarborough.
