  Self catering apartments were good as usual- some improvements noticeable eg outdoor table and chairs for relaxing on the deck, door wedges provided. All the usual niceties too like plenty of tea and coffee, toiletries, water and fruit in the gym, towels provided in th pool area etc - The high quality of the apartment was superb.   We chose Thistle Cheltenham because a few weeks earlier we had stayed in The Atlantic Tower - Thistle in Liverpool and enjoyed our stay so much we looked for the Thistle name for our visit to Cheltenham. Excellent in every respect. The room was easily on a par with Liverpool (except no flat screen TV but this was not a problem). The room was lovely and we have visited the hotel several times over the past 10 years and always enjoy returning to the Thistle Cheltenham. Lovely hotel and the breakfast was very nice. The staff are very helpful and the food is prepared to very high quality whilst providing a good range of 'posh-nosh' and bar meals. I found the staff very friendly and helpful especiallly Ollie who went way beyond the call of duty as our car had broken down and we needed a recovery service.
