We stayed in the new Silver Suite - it was extremely comfortable with a most beautiful view across the water.
Needless to say, but the food was magnificently presented and absolutely delicious.
The staff were exceptionally courteous and delightfully friendly. You felt you were staying with friends.

Comfortable room with magnificent view of the lake. We had originally
booked for two nights but had to leave after just one night due to
family reasons - hotel staff were very kind in this regard. Excellent

The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. Very friendly staff that made us feel very welcome. Food in the restuarant was very nice, with a relaxed atmosphere. - I came to relax, and in our second choice room that was possible being able to see and hear the river, plus watch the wildlife

A return visit for 3 nights, after a 16 year gap! The hotel has changed hands since then and is almost unrecognisable from the previous visit. I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Nothing was an issue, and with the perfect weather it was pleasant to sit outside in the garden and enjoy a view of Lake Windermere. Service was

Cheerful, helpful staff. High quality, comfortable room with attention to detail. As we are both vegetarian we were delighted to discover that the restaurant had a separate and varied vegetarian menu and were able to accommodate us as a late booking. the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.

Everything! The staff were wonderful and the food excellent. - Felt more like a 4* plus hotel, not a 3. Nice details like great towels and fresh milk available for in-room coffee. Quality decor in room, nice bathroom too. Very convenient to town without being in it.

Worth every penny - a fantastic small hotel
It snowed heavily during our stay and the staff even cleared the snow from our car - We stayed in the Bowness suite and it was beautiful, we could not fault a thing at this place, will return soon

This was a really beautiful hotel. Easy to find, plenty of parking and in beautiful surroundings. The garden was particular lovely, as was the quality of the food (we ate off the bar menu and it was very high quality). I love the fact that my husband and I can relax. We love the location. We love everything about the hotel and I feel that we will become regulars. we both have very stressful jobs and we work 13 hours most days. we like the fact that nobody can contact us on our phones. There is no guilt factor about work. It is peaceful unlike London.
