  We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. The meals were very good and the staff helpful an... cosa dice la gente » d friendly. We had a family room with two bunks and a single bed. - This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel. Staff were very pleasant and helpful Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful. Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover. Self catering provision was excellent. Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games). Loved my stay.

  10 minutes walk from bus station, not very far from the village center. It is pretty close to some good routes for walking, hiking and cycling. The staff there are very nice and very kind. The rooms including bedrooms bathrooms, kitchen, etc., are all very clean and comfortable. For me, as a solo traveller, it is a pretty good choice to stay t... cosa dice la gente » here and enjoy a quiet time in the countryside. - Hosts friendly, excellent value, quiet (although that might be b/c we stayed during the middle of the week in the low season), resident chef prepared us an excellent meal at bargain prices; I enjoyed the resident cats but people should know about them in case of allergies.

  The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others.   Nothing which I can point out to complaint abt this place. It is gorgeous hostel with the reasonable price in the best comfortable and perfect condition. It has the awesome location, a very very friendly staff. Out room is spacious and comfortable. It is easy to realize every room in this hostel is convenient too bc they have many spare shower roo... cosa dice la gente » ms and toilets outside our room. Besides they also provide for guests a big and clean kitchen as well as many stuffs to cook by ourselves. It is thumb - Extemely welcoming staff. When i got delaid on the train and emailed the hostel to check they would still have someone on reception they responded straight away. Breakfast was well worth the price, it was a little noisy with kids but nothing i wouldnt have expected. My single room on the third floor was surprisingly roomy with several bathroom in the vercinity. All in all, great staff, brilliant value for money super setting (right on the lake) will deffinitely be back!

  The £4.99 breakfast was fabulous as was the £9.99 two course evening meal. The setting of the hostel is superb surrounded by the Buttermere Fells and a short stroll to the Fish Inn in the village. - Great staff and all the facilities we needed (well equipped kitchen, large drying room, and enough share bathrooms).   The journey north was oh so slow but the warden was quite happy for us to arrive after closing time, which was a great relief and we had a room to ourselves (two of us) so we could continue packing for the weekend. Breakfast was great! with lovely hot porrage and lots more unexpected treats. Plenty of parking. Everything was clean and comfortable. - Very clean - excellent!!! Nice bar area and good breakfast! Very good value!!! We had sleeping bags, but bedding is in rooms - so no needed! We stayed first time in UK`s yha Hostel and we were worrying about atmosphere comparing to our polish hostels but really enjoyed!!! Lovely !!! We`ll be using yha Hostels before book any hotels from now!!!

  We stayed in a camping pod for the first time for two nights, the pod was clean, and surprisingly spacious! Enough room for the airbed and bags etc. There was a small heater, lamp and 2 camping chairs. The toilets and showers were clean. One evening we stayed at the hostel and had a 3 course meal, which was tasty and good value. The lounge area... cosa dice la gente » was typical YHA and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Only a 15 min walk into hawkshead where there is a couple of pubs and a few shops - We stayed in one of the "pods". It had lighting and heating and was very cosy to stay in. Would recommend it to anyone that is wanting to camp especially if it's getting cold out. The staff were very helpful and they have a drying room for all your wet gear. If your going to the Lake District stay here. Don't miss hard knott pass for amazing views too. It's narrow for 2 cars but it's worth the climb.

  This spectacularly appointed building is set slightly above the village of Grasmere. Our welcome was warm and genuine. The room was basic, (what we expected), but suited the purpose of a clean cosy place to stay at the end of an adventurous day. The breakfast was fantastic, as were the packed lunches and evening meals. The location is just sublime... cosa dice la gente » and peaceful. We will be going back again. - We travelled with a small child and were made to feel very welcome, with the travel cot set up for us on arrival. The hostel is a lovely old building in a stunning setting and a two-minute walk from the nice shops and cafes in the village. We booked dinner at short notice and were very pleased with the quality and price of the food. I can't fault anything!

  Staff where very friendly & helpful, we where a large group with dogs!!! And where made very welcome, very comfy beds and clean bathrooms and an amazing breakfast... Highly recommended - An excellent hostel with a superb £4.99 full English Breakfast. Great starting place for the Fred Whitton Cycle Challenge

  The location was superb. In the entrance was comfy sofas and a wood burning fire very cosy. The evening meals were huge portions and yummy. The view from the kitchen was spectacular. All the facilities such as showers and toilets were clean and lots of hot water.   I was a little anxious when booking this that it would be dirty and cold, but it turned out to be clean and cosy. The staff at the pub were friendly and helpful, and the accommodation itself was better than expected. The room was not big (we had 2 bunk beds for 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 9 - if there had been a third we would not have got ... cosa dice la gente » through the door) but it was clean and the heater was more than adequate to keep the space warm. The kitchen was well-equipped, including cutlery and - £10 a bed you can't go wrong.only about 4 miles away from Keswick town. Great location backs onto a great hiking track. Took my 8year old daughter and doggy, had a great time.bunkhouses are like stables, first door is bedrooms then next is kitchen and next bathroom. Food nice at pub too. No keys just door codes.
