All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. ... cosa dice la gente » election of bars and restaurants. - I liked the hotel room with balcony looking over Ambleside. Also we took full advantage of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class. We found all staff very helpful and there to make our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be visiting again very soon.

The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. The room, although small, was immaculately decorated and very clean with lovely white crisp linen and soft fluffy towels. This was a perfect break. The staff are such a friendly team and really go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. The views out over the fells make you feel relaxed in the first 5 minutes. A tramp in the sun, a swim, a spell in the hot tub outside and then a good meal - what else could you want for your holiday? -

The Riverside is probably one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in in a long time, and certainly for the price. Excellent leisure facilities, excellent bar, staff were fabulous, rooms were clean and well stocked with anything you might need. I was on a work trip, but i'm seriously going back for another stay with the woman i love. Maybe even the wife.
