We stayed in the new Silver Suite - it was extremely comfortable with a most beautiful view across the water.
Needless to say, but the food was magnificently presented and absolutely delicious.
The staff were exceptionally courteous and delightfully friendly. You felt you were staying with friends.

Comfortable room with magnificent view of the lake. We had originally
booked for two nights but had to leave after just one night due to
family reasons - hotel staff were very kind in this regard. Excellent

A return visit for 3 nights, after a 16 year gap! The hotel has changed hands since then and is almost unrecognisable from the previous visit. I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Nothing was an issue, and with the perfect weather it was pleasant to sit outside in the garden and enjoy a view of Lake Windermere. Service was

We stayed at the Gold Rill for 2 nights in April. We found it to be so lovely, peaceful and relaxing, a proper home from home. It has a beautiful dining room, and with lovely comfy lounges and views. We enjoyed the pitch-and-put no end. The hotel is only a couple of mins walk into the center of Grasmere, just perfect! And with lovely staff, we would definitely go again.

Everything from the cosy very well decorated room, warm hostess who was extremely helpful in finding activities and transport info. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a minute away from the lake. Breakfast was very nice and the access to the SPA at the Old McDonald is the cherry on top. We got this as a late deal which made it great value. Unsure what normal
price would be but large comfortable rooms in a beautiful historic
building with great facilities. The evening meal was superb probably one
of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had. Was here whilst on
business so was a very brief stay but would have loved to have been
there for the weekend.

The location was great - right in the middle of town with parking. The breakfast was good too. The staff were just the right side of friendly and very helpful too. Wow, we travel alot but have rarley found such a friendly, quality Inn (hotel.) The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. the bathroom was well appointed with an amazing shower. the highlight though was the food and drink, an incredible atmosphere in the bar with real ales and whiskies galore. The food in the Bistro and restaurant is fantastic! we WILL be back!
