This was a perfect break. The staff are such a friendly team and really go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. The views out over the fells make you feel relaxed in the first 5 minutes. A tramp in the sun, a swim, a spell in the hot tub outside and then a good meal - what else could you want for your holiday? -

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was clean and spacious and the food was of very good quality. The all you can eat breakfast was suberb. A lovely setting overlooking the river. The Riverside is probably one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in in a long time, and certainly for the price. Excellent leisure facilities, excellent bar, staff were fabulous, rooms were clean and well stocked with anything you might need. I was on a work trip, but i'm seriously going back for another stay with the woman i love. Maybe even the wife.

All staff were very friendly, yet efficient and professional. The room was better than I expected for the price. We were given a free room upgrade on arrival. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter service first class. We found all staff very helpful and there to make our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly be visiting again very soon.

The hotel was in a lovely setting in the select village of Wetheral, close to the city of Carlisle. Lovely walks by the river Eden, just minutes away and lots of history in the nearby St. Constantine's cell and the English Heritage abbey gatehouse. The room, although small, was immaculately decorated and very clean with lovely white crisp linen and soft fluffy towels. I was a little worried after reading the reviews, but we had no problems at all. Before going i requested a newly refurbished room and it turned out to be a spacious twin, that was clean, comfortable and quiet. I do agree that the rooms are a little warm and the windows don't really open, but other than that we had a comfortable stay. Staff were helpful and polite in general and any requests etc were dealt with straight away. Breakfast is that of a budget hotel, but plenty on offer and all sel

We had a very warm at the hotel on arrival and throughout our stay. The food we had on our first evening there was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was also to a very high standard of comfort. - Comfortable clean accomadation.
