Second time staying at this hotel, and again not disappointed, we requested the room we previously stayed in and got it. The room was lovely with a lovely view the bed was huge and bedding crisp white sheets. We went for a relaxing breaki and got it. We did'nt eat our main meal at the hotel, from reading previous reviews its a bit hit and miss.

Partners who run this were charming. My son and I stayed overnight and were very well looked after. Facilities are not endless, but this is a only a gastropub with rooms so you can't expect a tennis court! Good v good and reasonably priced. -

Very friendly and helpful staff on arrival and at breakfast, informal and relaxed atmosphere made us feel very welcome. Excellent room which kept it's traditional feel as well as offering comfort. Good location for the centre of Newbury. We will definitely stay there again. -

The room was large, clean and comfortable. The room faced inwards so we overlooked the glass roof of the pub but there was very little noise so I was happier than it overlooking the town square. Very friendly staff! We dropped off our bags on the way to Highclere. When we returned the bags were in our room and we checked in quickly. Its a good idea to arrange with your taxi to come back to Highclere to pick you up. We had a great dinner and breakfast the next day at the White Hart. The Inn is tucked away in a quiet location yet close to major amenities. The staff were friendly and courteous at all times, for me breakfast was a high point and I enjoyed every one, as well as the evening meals.
The room I was in (top floor barn conversion) was roomy comfortable and warm, the bathroom could do with a makeover, although it was adequate, (plenty of hot water) I stayed for 10 nights and I was extremely happy with the level of service and the old world charm of the Inn, would I
