The suite is a small apartment with a small kitchen opened on the living room.
Much better than a classic hotel room if you intend to spend time in your room.
Location is right on Taksim place, in front of Gezi park and Divan hotel. The downside is that it is a bit noisy with ongoing roadworks and traffic at this time. -

Just back from Istanbul, where were staying in Mataraci Konak with friends for 4 days. The location is just fabulous, close to all major sites.
Little Haya Sofia is next to the hotel and was nice surprise for us.
Lots of restaurants and cafes around, but the hotel is staying on small quite street, so this doesn’t bother you at all.
Hotel is a nice place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff.

We had a very pleasant stay at Corinne. The staff is extremelly nice and helpfull, the rooms are very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. I liked most the very helpful manager of the hotel. Not only that he was nice, friendly and helpful in the hotel but also used some of his time to take us to town to help us arrange for a fishing trip, all that without asking for any money.
I also liked the breakfast being served at any time in the suite without extra charges. The manager said " y

It is not that difficult to come around a good hotel but a great one is always difficult to be found. Full time service, real manners, and basically working solely for you comfort. Gladly would recommend anyone to stay here, in this great comfort hotel.

I likes the clean bathrooms and toilets, sheets and the friendly staff who went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable. Especially Memet, Nayeeb and all the other reception and even security people who were always smily and friendly.

I had a delightful surprise staying at the Taksim Star; very impressed by the room, soft yet crisp sheets; the bathroom was really clean, too!! The entire room was designed remarkably, very stylish and ingenious use of space. Very helpful, friendly and courteous staffs, and the location could not be better, near everything. -

We have stayed at Faik Pasha for two nights. This hotel is an excellent option in İstanbul. We chose this hotel due to the Taksim square protests. A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
