The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, and breakfast and dinner at the cosy restaurant varied and delicious.
We liked the remote location of the hotel, the room's back patio surrounded by trees and birdsong, and the tranquil atmosphere of it all.
We arrived when the heavens had opened, the nearby river in spate, and the hotel's pathways flooded, so we all and our luggage got wet, but these were exceptional circumstances and couldn't be helped.
